Known as the cardiac byass pump is an essential aid to open- heart surgery during which the patients heart stopped. John H. Gibbon Jr. was the person who made this discovery in 1931. After Dr. Gibbon knew that the machine worked and people could be alive during open heart surgery, damaged or diseased values could be replaced.
Maurice Ralph Hilleman
Maurice Ralph Hilleman develpoed the mumps, measels, rubella, chickenpox, bacterial meningitis, flu, and hepititus B vaccines. He was the first person to discover that mumps could grow in thee salivary glands when a five year old girl was complaining about a sore throat. He developed about 40 vaccines, each year, Hilleman's vaccines sved millions of people worldwide from death, deafness, blindness, and other permanent disabilities.
Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator
The first implantable cardiac defibrillator was by two swiss researchers in 1948. They experimented with dogs and discovered that the fibrillation could also be stopped and normal beats restored in the same way, by shocking the heart. An implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) is a small electronic device installed inside the chest to prevent sudden death from cardiac arrest due to life threatening abnormally fast heart rhythms.
Wilhelm Roentgen
Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen was a German physicist, who, on 8 November 1895, produced and detected electromagnetic radiation in a wavelength range today known as X-rays. Without x-ray machines we would never be able to check if something is broken, if you have a disease, or just need to see bone ligaments.
